Mortal Kombat: Master Raiden

Master Raiden is the god of thunder in Mortal Kombat. He thinks of terms eternally not human life span do to the reason that he is immortal. He also has other supernatural powers like thunder, flight, and teleportation. He’s outfit staid the same throughout all the Mortal Kombat games but different colors and designs. He’s always worn a Chinese hat called a conical hat. His hat got more advanced by getting straighter and wider. In the newer versions of Mortal Kombat his hat was made of metal not straw. His staff of power helps him control lighting plus he uses it as a weapon to defeat his opponents. His other weapon is a war hammer. The creators named him Raiden after a small, red-skinned demon that beats a drum to create lightning. His aperients look like the Taoist thunder god. He mainly watches over and protects the earthrealm. He’s a main part of Mortal Kombat, he tells people where to go through their visions.

His special moves in Mortal Kombat Deception are Lightning Bolt, Lightning Dash, Teleport, and Shocking Touch. Light Bolt is the move where Master Raiden launches a bolt of lightning at his opponent causing a shock of damage. It’s a good move to launch from a far or short distance. Lightning Dash is the move where he spins towards you surrounded by lightning. This move is great for short distances and to deal great damage. Teleport is where he teleports behind his opponent to get the higher advantage to defeat his opponents. It’s the perfect move to gain ahead in the battle or to change who is hitting who. Shocking Touch is the move where he touches someone with his hand that surrounded with lightning making a big explosion launching his enemy. Shocking touch can be used to deal lots of damage to his opponents. He has two fatality moves. His first one is where he shocks his opponent till he shatters then it bounces back to him and does the same thing to him. His second one is where he takes lightning from the air and shocks his opponent till he shatters. His only Hara-Kiri is where he causes you to shock yourself till you shatter.

Raiden became the protector of the Earthrealm ever since it was made. He fought against the Elder God Shinnok because in a war it threatened to destroy the Earthrealm. One of the areas of the war was the Saurian civilization, which forces the survivors to immigrate to another world. One of the survivors was Reptile and his survivors named the planet they moved to Zaterra. Raiden managed to defeat Shinnok with the help of the Elder Gods, then banished Shinnok to the Netherealm and secured Shinnok’s amulet of power in a secret location. That secret location a Temple of the Elements tucked away in the highest mountains of Nepal. Raiden charged four gods with guarding the amulet. The gods are the gods of Wind, Fire, Earth, and Water. The elder Sub-Zero stole Shinnok’s amulet from the temple for Quan Chi millions of years later. This caused Raiden to appear to one of the Lin Kuei warriors and instructed him to enter the Netherealm and steal it back before Shinnok use it to free himself. Raiden couldn’t retrieve it himself because his powers would dissipate in the Netherealm. Sub-Zero’s mission into the Netherealm was a successful and Shinnok was no longer a threat. Even though Sub-Zero got a false amulet from Quan Chi, Raiden never realized that Quan Chi would remain in possession of the true amulet for years.

In the original Mortal Kombat, Raiden was invited by Shang Tsung to compete in the Mortal Kombat tournament. Raiden accepted the invitation and took a human form to compete. He also was able to keep his elemental power of lightning during the tournament. In Mortal Kombat II, watching from high above, Raiden realizes how grim Shao Kahn became. Raiden warned Liu Kang and Kung Lao (the last people in the Shaolin tournament) of Shao Kahn’s threat. Raiden then disappears to the Outworld alone. Despite the souls taken by Shao Kahn on Earth, Raiden was able to protect the souls of Liu Kang and other chosen warriors from getting taken. Raiden decided to sacrifice his own immortality in order to help his chances to defeat Kahn after the Elder Gods refused to help him in Mortal Kombat Trilogy. At the end, Kahn’s forces were defeated causes them to repel the invasion back into the Outworld and restoring the Earthrealm to its rightful state. In Mortal Kombat 4, Shinnok again sought to rise from the Netherealm and conquer the realms but this time got the help from Quan Chi. However, with Liu Kang again uniting Earth’s warriors at the side of the Raiden’s Forces of Light emerged successful. Now granted by the Elder Gods, he turned over his position as the Earthrealm’s protector to Fujin.

As an Elder God, Raiden couldn’t interfere when Shang Tsung and Quan Chi killed Liu Kang at the Wu Shi Academy. Disgusted at his peers for their refusal to intervene, he gives up his position as an Elder God and gathered his trusted warriors to stop the Deadly Alliance. This time, disaster struck the heroes. The Earthrealm warriors Jax Briggs, Sonya Blade and Johnny Cage were killed in battle with a Tarkatan horde, Kitana was killed by Quan Chi, and Kung Lao was killed by Shang Tsung. In a desperate measure to stop the battle Raiden personally confronted Shang Tsung and Quan Chi. Raiden put up an admirable fight and managed to hold his own against both villains for a while, but when they combined there powers they were in the end too much for him. He returned to his feet when Onaga entered the chamber. Putting his differences aside with Tsung and Quan Chi, he assisted them in the attempts to repel Onaga, he released his godly essence and causes an enormous explosion. It obliterated the Dragon King’s tomb and killed both members of the Deadly Alliance but did little damage to Onaga.

After doing battle with the Deadly Alliance in the Netherealm, Raiden’s essence soon gathered again in the Earthrealm, but came back corrupted. This is proven that Raiden’s essence did not reform as he became a new god but a darker variants of himself. He had become furious with the way the people have treated the Earthrealm. He became more enraged when he learned that Shujinko had unleashed the Onaga by obtaining the Kamidogu of various realms for Onaga. Raiden’s patience caused his decision to take matters into his own hands. Removing Liu Kang’s body from its grave, Raiden took it to an underground temple that he had destroyed centuries earlier. Binding Kang’s body with enchanted shackles, Raiden spoke the enchantments sketched into the temple’s walls. He revived his former ally infusing Liu Kang with a thunderclap of lightning. The corpse of Liu Kang was now the enforcer of Raiden’s will. Raiden sent Kang’s corpse on a mission to wreak havoc on the people who Raiden thought did harm to Earthrealm. This caught the attention of Shinnok causing him to appear before Raiden and offered him an alliance. Raiden was told by Shinnok that he would help him in whatever he wanted, he would try to ensure the safety of Earthrealm. Raiden new of Shinnok’s deceptive nature, so Raiden accepted the offer to uncover Shinnok’s master plans.

Raiden’s story is further expanded in the Konquest mode of Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, when Taven encounters him. Raiden informs Taven that he had struck a deal with Shao Kahn, agreeing to let the Emperor conquer all other realms except for the Earthrealm. In return, Raiden agreed to hunt and eliminate Taven, so that Shao Kahn could claim Blaze’s godlike powers. Raiden confronts Taven as Kahn, Onaga, Shang Tsung, and Quan Chi escape into a portal leading to Edenia. He is unsuccessful because he was defeated by Taven, and left unconscious on the ground. Taven was still in shock and disbelief at Raiden’s actions, he decides to follow the villains through the portal. Raiden would fought against Shao Kahn when they became the last surviving warriors. Shao Kahn emerged victorious, but Raiden was able to send a message to his past self.

Raiden returns and fights in the fighting game Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe. He plays the role in the Story mode of the game as the person who created Dark Kahn, which causes the Mortal Kombat and DC Universes to merge together. He also comes into contact with Batman when he rescues Liu Kang from Batman and his questioning regarding to merging of the worlds. Raiden attempts to electrocute Batman but has no effect because of batman’s insulated body armor. Raiden is able to teleport himself away from the UN Orbital Space Station with Kang. He later challenges Sub-Zero into a fight. Then he enrages Captain Marvel. After the battle between the two universes, he defeats Shang Tsung and Liu Kang. Realizing his horrible mistake, he teams up with Superman to defeat Dark Kahn. He imprisons Darkseid in the Netherrealm after he defeats Dark Kahn. In the end, Raiden returns to his realm to find out that the sun in his world has weakened him. Quan Chi offers Raiden a large jade amulet that would restore his powers. Raiden is given a choice between a life of servitude to the sorcerer, or mortality.

Raiden is the pivotal character in the newer Mortal Kombat. Taking place in the events of Armageddon, Raiden realizes that the world is in peril due to the events accrued during the tenth Mortal Kombat tournament (the setting of the original Mortal Kombat). During a mortal battle with Shao Kahn, Raiden transmits a message through time and space to himself at the time of the tournament. The Raiden of the past has been told of the knowledge of his future, he commits to using this information to alter the course of history to avoid the disaster of Mortal Kombat: Armageddon. Although, he succeeds in fulfilling his vision it causes the death of nearly all of the Earthrealm Defenders, including Liu Kang.

Mortal Kombat: Sub-Zero

My best character to play as on Mortal Kombat Deception is Sub-Zero. Sub-Zero is my best fighter because I am really good at using his special moves. His moves in Mortal Kombat Deception are freeze ball, ice clone, and cold shoulder. I mostly use ice clone or freeze ball because cold shoulder isn’t really a strong move. Freeze ball is a move were Sub-Zero launches a ball of ice at his opponents to freeze them where they stand. The only way to dodge his attack is to move to the side. I mostly launch the freeze ball when they are far away from me or somewhat close. Ice clone is a clone of Sub-Zero that replaces his spot. It freezes his opponents only if they hit it. I find it funny because it’s pretty much a trap for people to hit. The only way to n++ot freeze up is to not hit it at all because it melts after 10 seconds. I use ice clone when I’m about to get attacked or when my enemy is right in front of my body. I don’t like to use cold shoulder because I think it’s a worthless move. Cold shoulder is the easiest move to block. Either my opponent can block the move or move to the side. The move just deals with a lot of damage but doesn’t freeze my opponent. Sub-Zero slides towards his opponent and hits them with his shoulder.

Sub-Zero is from Chinese Earthrealm. His moves are mostly based of ice because he came from a clan that was based off of ice. His first outfit looked like Scorpion or Reptile but in blue. He looked like a blue ice ninja of awesomeness. He was unmasked in Mortal Kombat 3 showing his face with a red scar on his left eye. After Mortal Kombat 3 the scar moved to the right eye.  The scar on the right eye went from his forehead to the other side of his eye. The scar across his right eye was a mark of death. His next outfit is my favorite; it was in Mortal Kombat Deception. His scar fades away and he wears an awesome outfit. His belt is the dragon medallion that he got from beating Sektor and returning to Lin Kuei clan. The medallion boosts the owner’s powers. This helps Sub-Zero do his fatalities and Hara-kiri. A fatality and Hara-kiri is the final move to destroy your opponent. A fatality is the move where you destroy your opponent but a Hara-kiri is the final move where your opponent killed himself. He has two fatalities and one Hara-kiri in Mortal Kombat Deception. His first fatality is where he freezes your whole body and rips off your head, then slides back and launches it at your body. That causes your body to shatter into many little pieces. His second fatality freezes the bottom half of your body, and he kicks your feet causing them to shatter. As you crawl away scared and helpless he walks up to you and smashes your head with his foot. His Hara-kiri move is where you freezes yourself and break yourself. In Mortal Kombat Armageddon his scar reappears except for his alternate costume.

He is not one person. Sub-Zero is a name that is used for certain people that are brothers. The first Sub-Zero is named Bi-Han, he was in the first Mortal Kombat game. He was supposed to enter the titular tournament and kill the host Shang Tsung. He entered the tournament but failed to kill Shang Tsung. He was killed by the Scorpion. In Mortal Kombat 2 Kuei Liang became the new Sub-Zero and was assigned to take Bi-Han failed mission. Kuei Liang had a friend named Smoke, they were both part of the Lin Kuei clan. The younger Sub-Zero turned escaped from the Lin Kuei clan because they were turning there solders into cyborgs. Three cyborgs were sent to kill Sub-Zero and one of the cyborgs was his friend Smoke. At the time of when the Lin Kuei clan sent the assassins, Sub-Zero got a vision from Master Raiden to join the rebels that are against the new threat. In Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero is the sequel to Mortal Kombat 1 where Sub-Zero was sent to find and give an amulet to Quan Chi. Sub-Zero Is sent to the Netherworld to learn that the amulet releases a god named Shinnok by Master Raiden. Sub-Zero defeats Shinnok and gives Master Raiden the Amulet.

In Mortal Kombat 4 Master Raiden summons the younger Sub-Zero to defend the Earthrealm from Shinnok while the other Sub-Zero is fighting Scorpion. Sub-Zero was fighting Scorpion because he was told by Quan Chi that the Lin Kuei killed his family. His family was actually killed by Quan Chi. In Mortal Kombat Deadly alliance he beat Sektor for leadership over the Lin Kuei clan. He also found a girl named Frost. He trained her because she almost had the same powers as he did. Frost wanted to be the leader of the Lin Kuei clan so she tried to freeze Sub-Zero. Sub-Zero’s dragon medallion reflected Frost’s freezing blast back at her froze her. Sub-Zero takes her to the Underworld and buries her by the ancestors of Cryomancers. He then forgives her for what she tried to do. She unfreezes in Mortal Kombat Unchained and she thinks Sub-Zero took the dragon Medallion from her. She tries to kill Sub-Zero but failed and was frozen by Sub-Zero this time. He then took her to a shrine to be frozen for as long as possible. She awakens in Mortal Kombat Armageddon Konquest.

But before she attacks him, he joins this guy’s group named Shujinko to fight against Onaga in Mortal Kombat Deception. He also has to confront his corrupted brother Noob Saibot. In Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monk he was at first a boss character until he allies with Kung Lao and Liu Kang. He joins them until he finds his older brother. In Mortal Kombat Armageddon Konquest Sub-Zero has to fight a warrior named Taven because he and his people tried to attack the Lin Kuei Palace. They join together to fight against Noob Saibot and Smoke. After they defeat Noob Saibot and Smoke, Sub-Zero tries to find a cure for Noob Saibot. In Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe he is a playable character in the game. He is in a war between the titular fictional universes. He and Batman are supposed to be dark and mysterious. The different thing between Batman and Sub-Zero is that Sub- Zero is from Mortal Kombat and Batman is from DC comics. In the 2011 Mortal Kombat game, Bi-Han was killed by Scorpion and was turned into Noob Saibot. Kuai Liang was turned into a cyborg instead of Smoke but was able to control his mind and fight with Master Raiden. They were fighting against Shao Kahn but Sub-Zero was killed by a woman named Sindel. He was then enslaved in the Netherrealm by Quan Chi.

Sub-Zero threw my understanding and research is that he is two people and they are brothers. I have learned a lot more about Sub-Zero then I have playing a few Mortal Kombat games. I’ve learned that he was more than one person and that the first Sub-Zero turned into Noob Saibot after he was killed by Scorpion. I also learned a lot about his background story and what his purpose was for in each Mortal Kombat game. I also learned that Smoke was Sub-Zero’s friend. Before this project I thought Noob and Smoke where pure evil and the ultimate team to beat in Mortal Kombat but I was wrong. It turns out that they were programed to be evil. I had fun researching about Sub-Zero and am hoping that our next Monthly writing project is like this.

Mortal Kombat: Noob Saibot and Smoke

Noob Saibot: His name came from the last name of the creators of Mortal Kombat spelled backwards. He was the first Sub-Zero, he turned into Noob Saibot after Scorpion killed him. His actual name is Bi Han. He’s from the Earthrealm but he was reborn in the Netherealm. He fights with Smoke in Deception and they are programed to be really good fighters in the game.

Noob Saibot’s design was focused in blackness. The creators found difficulties in making some of the Mortal Kombat versions. In Mortal Kombat: Deception, Noob Saibot was the first character drawn with designs on him. In Mortal Kombat Deception, they attempted with multiple outfits to make him more distinctive and less blackness. One design was not used because of how difficult it was with the details and the similarities to a tuxedo. Another one was where he wore a hood but used the outfit for a new character. An early alternate outfit was chosen for Noob Saibot with a black, red and blue outfit. The outfit had Japanese words for the darkness in the front flaps. He was also shown unmasked but ended up as Havik’s alternate outfit. For Mortal Kombat Deception, it was on purpose to introduce a two-on-two combat team, but was only used with Noob Saibot and Smoke. Both characters were used for the concept of a two-on-two combat team, and were intended to work together on their fatality.

Noob Saibot was first introduced in Mortal Kombat II as a hidden opponent. He was given the name Noob Saibot and was made playable in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 and Mortal Kombat Trilogy. In the latter two games he allies with the emperor Shao Kahn and secretly observes him. In Mortal Kombat 4 he was a playable character but he was eventually changed to being hidden. In Mortal Kombat 4, he serves the fallen Elder God Shinnok. Mortal Kombat: Tournament Edition featured Noob Saibot as a playable character but served as one of Shao Kahn’s soldiers. In Mortal Kombat: Deception, Noob Saibot is free to command his own group of assassins. He makes the cyborg Smoke, they both appear as early bosses, under the name Noob Smoke. This game explains that Noob Saibot was the first Sub-Zero that appeared in the first Mortal Kombat tournament but was killed by Scorpion. This revels more as you explore further in Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks when Noob Saibot is pursued by his younger brother. Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, Noob Saibot was a playable character. In Mortal Kombat: Armageddon’s story mode, Noob Saibot and Smoke invade the Lin Kuei ninja clan’s castle. They had to simulate most of the defending Lin Kuei ninja, turning them into their own warrior. Noob Saibot and Smoke are defeated by Taven, Noob Saibot is left in the castle unconscious. Sub-Zero tries to force Noob Saibot to recall his past identity. Noob Saibot’s appears in the 2011 Mortal Kombat video game. After being killed by Scorpion, he is resurrected by Quan Chi and serves as one of Quan Chi enforcers. Supporting him and Shao Kahn, Noob Saibot is trapped by Nightwolf in a magical tornado that explodes.

Smoke: Smoke is a cyborg reprogramed by Noob Saibot but was created by the Lin Kuei Clan. Before he was a cyborg he was a man named Tomas Vrbada from Prague. His friend was the newer Sub-Zero. His outfit kind of looks like Cyrax’s outfit, but in the color black. He’s a cyborg that fights alongside with Noob Saibot in Mortal Kombat Deception, otherwise all the other Mortal Kombat games he fights by himself. In the 2011 Mortal Kombat game

Smoke first appeared in Mortal Kombat 2 as a non-playable, hidden character spotted in the Living Forest. Smoke made his playable debut in Mortal Kombat 3 as a selectable character that could be unlocked by entering the correct Ultimate Kombat Kode just before the end of gameplay. His story in Mortal Kombat 3 was a friend of Sub-Zero and a fellow Lin Kuei assassin. Both Sub-Zero and Smoke escape from the Lin Kuei clan and learning of their Grandmaster’s plan to convert the best warriors of the clan, into cybernetic units. Smoke is captured, transformed, and programmed as the third cybernetic unit ordered to hunt down his friend, Sub-Zero. In his Mortal Kombat 3 ending, he discovers that he still retains his soul, with the help of Sub-Zero, and aids Sub-Zero in defeating Cyrax and Sektor. In Mortal Kombat Deception, he is located by Noob Saibot in an Outworld dungeon. He was one of Kahn’s war trophies in the dungeon. Noob Saibot reprogrammed him and hoped to use his nano-technology to create an army of oni-cyborgs in the Netherealm. In Mortal Kombat: Armageddon’s Konquest mode, Noob and Smoke attack the Lin Kuei temple, but Smoke gets killed by Taven. In the 2011 Mortal Kombat game, Raiden altered the timeline which caused Smoke from getting captured from the Lin Kuei clan and from him getting set up to undergo the cybernetic conversion process. This causes his cybernetic form to no longer exist and he remains a human. His real name is Tomas Vrbada and he was originally from Prague. Along with most of the Earthrealm warriors, he is killed by Sindel near the end of the game.

Noob and Smoke: They are the perfect tag team people to ever have together because of who they are. One is the original Sub-Zero and the older brother of the newer Sub-Zero as the other is the friend of the newer Sub-Zero. They are both dark characters in the Mortal Kombat video games. They work perfectly together in Mortal Kombat Deception. There moves in Mortal Kombat Deception are the same for both characters.

Their moves are Smokeycut, Dark Assassin, Death From Above, Dark Shadows, We Live, and Darkness. Smokeycut is where they switch roles by teleporting behind their opponent and hitting them. Dark Assassin is where the fighter ducks and the other guy launch weapons at their enemies. Death From Above is another switch character move that makes the guy that is switching to attack. The guy that is going to attack, teleports and kicks their opponent in the face. Dark Shadow is when the fighter teleports into the ground and out right under is opponent and hits them with an upper cut. We Live is where both Noob and Smoke come out and power punches their enemies. Darkness is where they leave black smoke in the air for their opponent to run into it. They have two Fatalities and two Hara-Kiris. Their first Fatality is where Noob launches ninja stars at his opponents but his last one he turns horizontally and sticks it in his opponents head. Their second Fatality is where Smoke disappears and rips his opponent apart. Their first Hara-Kiri is where Noob launches ninja stars in the air and has them stab into himself. Their second one is where Smoke self-destructs himself.

Mortal Kombat: Scorpion

Scorpion is a dead person that is seeking revenge to kill the people that destroyed his tribe and killed his family. Scorpion is a code name for a ninja named Hanzo Hasashi. He’s one of the Shirai Ryu’s best warriors and is from the Earthrealm. After people killed him, he became a hell creature that would make allies with anyone who would help him with his goal. He killed the first Sub-Zero thinking Sub-Zero killed his tribal members. He later finds out that the guy, who told him that Sub-Zero killed his family, was the actual killer. All of Scorpion’s outfits in Mortal Kombat make him look like a ninja. From the first Mortal Kombat to the fourth Mortal Kombat he looked just like Sub-Zero but in a yellow color. His outfit stayed the same in every single Mortal Kombat, but got more advances. His mouth guard changed and he gained two swords on his back. His other outfit is where he takes off his mask and shows his face which is a skull on fire. He looks like the ninja Ghost rider if there ever was one. His skeleton outfit was meant to show what he looked like after he was killed. The weapons he used are an axe, a broadsword, and a ninjato. His famous catch phrase is “Get over hear”, which he uses when he does his spear move (the thing he’s doing in the picture above). The phrase was made to be funny in the video game. It got famous over the years, so they kept the phrase and the spear move in every single Mortal Kombat. The spear move became an important part of him and who he is. His moves are based off the element of fire.

His special moves in Deception are Spear, Hellfire, Backflip Kick, and Teleport Attack. Spear is where he launches a spear head that’s attached to a string which is connected to his hand at his opponents. When the spear gets Scorpion’s opponents, he pulls them towards himself so that he can attack them. It’s a good move to use when someone is walking away but to dodge it is to move to the side. Hellfire is where he summons fire from under his opponents and burns them. Backflip Kick is where he kicks his opponents while doing a backflip, plus his feet are on fire. It’s really good to use when you’re close to the person and to deal a good amount of damage. Teleport Attack is where he teleports behind his opponents and jump kicks them. It is mostly good when needed to gain the fighting advantage. Scorpion has two Fatalities and a Hara-Kiri. His first fatality is where he launches his spear head at his opponents arm and rips it off. Then he launches it at his opponents opposite leg, ripping it off. As His opponent is begging for mercy, he walks up to them and dislocates their head. His second fatality is where he grabs his opponent’s neck and rips off their spinal cord form their body. His Hara-Kiri is where he causes you to kneel down and dislocate your head.

Scorpion is the code name of the ninja named Hanzo Hasashi. He is one of the Shirai Ryu’s finest warriors, who became a hellspawned revenant. He resides in the Netherrealm underworld and is seeking revenge against those who destructed his clan and the death of his family. Scorpion will ally with anyone who can assist his plans of revenge. He was once manipulated by Quan Chi that Sub-Zero was one of the people that destroyed his clan. Scorpion is a spectre so sorcery and supernatural anomalies have proven effective against him in battle, but none of it had served him to destroy Sub-Zero. Scorpion is in the first Mortal Kombat game as a dead warrior. He enters the Mortal Kombat tournament to kill Sub-Zero. Scorpion manages to kill Sub-Zero, but later learns that Sub-Zero’s mission was to compete in the second tournament to kill the host. When scorpion heard that his Sub-zero had somehow returned, Scorpion tracks him down during the tournament. He realizes that the newer Sub-Zero was actually the Sub-Zero he killed younger brother. Then he found out that after he killed the newer Sub-Zero’s brother, the newer Sub-Zero had to complete his brother’s mission. As a result, Scorpion vows to serve as the new Sub-Zero’s guardian as an in sorry for killing your older brother. Scorpion appears as a boss character in Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks, as he tries to kill Liu Kang and Kung Lao. Scorpion returns to the series in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. He appears when Shao Kahn tries to conquer the Netherealm, after Shao Kahn’s invasion to the Earthrealm. Scorpion’s allegiance with Kahn quickly dissipates when he hears that Sub-Zero becomes one of Earthrealm’s chosen warriors, which he sides in their final showdown with Shao Kahn.

In Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero, Scorpion is only a boss character. Scorpion is given a mission from Quan Chi to find a map hidden in a Shaolin temple which was also given to Sub-Zero. After Scorpion was killed by Sub-Zero, he attempts to kill Sub-Zero in the Netherrealm. In Mortal Kombat 4 he is tricked by Quan Chi that the younger Sub-Zero was actually involved in the deaths of his family and clan. Scorpion defeats the new Sub-Zero, but when Quan Chi reveals what truly happens to his clan, Scorpion rages on Quan Chi and grabs him sending Quan Chi to the Netherealm. In Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, Scorpion is attacked by the Oni Drahmin and Moloch. Oni Drahimin and Moloch free Quan Chi from the Netherealm. Scorpion continues searching for Quan Chi and eventually meets the Elder Gods. The Elder Gods give him a new mission to seek and destroy Onaga before Onaga unmakes the realms in Mortal Kombat Deception. In the Konquest mode of Armageddon, Scorpion makes a deal with the Elder Gods to serve them in exchange for the resurrection of the Shirai Ryu clan and his family. The Elder Gods resurrect the Clan people and scorpion’s family as undead beings. Scorpion becomes pissed at the Elder Gods, so he searches for the Elder Gods to destroy them. He takes Blaze’s power (that was meant for Taven or Daegon), but Scorpion is killed by Sub-Zero in battle. In Shaolin Monks, he is a boss character and a playable character for both versus mode and story mode. In the 2011 Mortal Kombat game, Scorpion reprises his role from the first tournaments. Scorpion serves Quan Chi not even knowing that Quan Chi was the actual person that killed his clan and family. He kills Sub-Zero despising the fact of Raiden’s negotiations with him to revive his clan.

Other people that I’ve talk to make it seem that Sub-Zero and Scorpion are pure enemies because one is fire and the other is ice. I think from what I have learned is that yes they had their bad times but Scorpion did protect the newer Sub-Zero in Mortal Kombat 2. Plus I think more people like Scorpion than any other character in Mortal Kombat but I could be wrong. Scorpion seems to me as a heart broken, confused person do to what has happened to him.
